United now change their home shirt every season after having previously stuck to a two-year rotation. Since the turn of the century, most teams in the League have swapped designs every year and it was only a matter of time before United leeched onto doing so.
To say Nike’s designs for United have been underwhelming is an understatement. The most memorable designs being the 2004/06 Home Shirt, 2006/07 Home Shirt and the brilliantly simplistic 2008/09 European Away Shirt.
The rumoured shirt for next year looks set to follow in the footsteps of a number of poor efforts by Nike. It’s very easy to criticise, so I decided to try my hand at designing a set of Home and Away shirts. Away shirt 6 wouldn’t be chosen for obvious reasons but I feel the others are realistic designs that would look a lot better on the team than Nike’s purported new strip.
Anyway enough nattering, here are my efforts at designing Manchester United Home and Away shirts. Feel free to vote for your favourite or leave some criticism.
